Healing Through Permacultrue & Biodynamic Gardening
Fri, Mar 19 – Sun, Mar 21, 2010
Institute of Noetic Sciences
Petaluma, CA
You’re stuck in traffic horns blasting and radios blaring. Tension builds as you look around to see nothing but highway. Yet you long to see wild flowers or a remote beach with pelicans flying close to the waves. What is this longing? Why do we feel it as if it points to a hole in the very fabric of our being? We feel that way because it does. The longing is a call for us to restore our grounding within the natural world that had nourished us for hundreds of thousands of years and is now lost from our daily lives. Our separation from nature is at the heart of the health crisis, social unrest and threats to the environment that are so prominent in the world today. We must reconnect to heal. Fortunately activities such as holistic gardening, walking meditations, even flower arranging can create that reconnection. During this weekend of the vernal equinox we explore a more intimate relationship with our food, nature’s rhythms and the gentle flow of our life force as we spend time in the IONS permaculture garden putting what we learn into concrete practice.
